2023 Submissions

In 2023, SWQROC made a number of submissions independently and as part of the Western Queensland Alliance of Councils (WQAC). Most notably two submissions made during this year saw us advocating on the issues of Bank Closures and the Impacts of Severe Weather Events on the national regional, rural and remote road networks.

Joining with our colleagues in the Western Queensland Alliance of Councils, SWQROC were major contributors to submissions on:

  • The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Regional Development, Infrastructure and Transport’s Inquiry into the implications of severe weather events on the national, regional, rural and remote road network.

  • Senate Standing Committee Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport References Committee’s Inquiry into Bank closures in regional Australia.
